UPDATE: KVTA will be opening at the regular time for tomorrow Friday (4/5/24). We will be open from 8am-8pm.

We hope everyone stayed safe and off the roads as much as possible from todays huge snow storm.

Due to the weather KVTA will be CLOSED all day today on Thursday April 4th. Currently we are also without power at the club.

Please continue to check the website for updates, as KVTA might be closed Friday (4/5/24) morning as well. An updated will be posted this evening regarding what time the club will open on Friday morning.

Due to the weather that is expected, KVTA will be CLOSED for tomorrow on Saturday March 23rd. We sincerely apologize for the closing. If the predicted weather forecast changes, KVTA might try to open later in the morning/day, so please check back here to see if there are any changes.

In case anyone has missed the newsletter and seeing it on the court sheets, as well as the calendar board behind the front desk. KVTA is closed tomorrow (Friday March 22nd) due to maintenance needing to be done at the club. We plan to reopen Saturday March 23rd (if the weather cooperates). Please check back here and on the court sheets for updates.

KVTA is still without power, therefore will be CLOSED for the rest of the day today. We will try to reopen tomorrow morning, Wednesday December 20th. It is highly recommended to please email acopitennis@gmail.com to double check the club is open, before coming in tomorrow!!

KVTA is still without power as of 11:40am on December 19th. Please continue checking the website for updates. We will post another update around 3:30pm. KVTA will be closed today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lewiston community, to the families of the deceased, and to those who have been injured. We have wonderful people that live in Lewiston that come to our tennis club to play tennis and pickleball. Our hearts are with Lewiston! We grieve with the city of Lewiston.

KVTA will be CLOSED all day from Friday September 1st - Monday September 4th due to Court Cleaning and the Labor Day weekend.

We will be reopening for the Fall/Winter tennis season on Tuesday September 5th. This is also when permanent court times start! We look forward to seeing everyone back in the club!!

Valentine’s Mixer/Scramble

Sign up now for the Valentine’s Mixer/Scramble on Saturday February 18th from 4-6pm. A max of 20 people will be allowed. Preferred signups are with a partner already, but if you want to play and are in need of a partner, we will try our best to help you find one. Teams will be male/female.

$20 for members

$25 for non-members

Must wear something RED: examples: Hat/visor, shirt, or shorts

KVTA Holiday Tennis Scramble

On Saturday December 10th, the social committee and Alex organized a terrific a Holiday Tennis Scramble, offering two different levels, the beginner/intermediate from 3:00pm-4:30pm and then the intermediate/advanced from 4:30pm-6pm. There was food and snacks and a good time had by all!

The KVTA Annual meeting is a chance to learn about the club history, finances, and operations. Members vote for a slate of directors (You are a voting member if you have a gold or silver membership, or if you pay $10 for a Kennebec Valley Tennis Association Membership!) Voting will reconfirm board members whose terms are expiring and any new board members.

  • Re-election of returning Board of Directors for a 3 year term:

Hilary made a Motion, Marc seconded, all approved Lisa Lowery’s re-election.

  • Treasurer Hilary Holm reviewed the provided reports on basic dollar numbers for three years and the FY2022 annual budget results.

  • Facilities Manager and Tennis Director Alex Stern reported on programs, events, community involvement and goals.

A survey was compiled by the PR Committee of the KVTA Board of Directors and Manager Alex Stern to see how we can best communicate with you, please do so soon. It’s anonymous and will remained open until Oct. 31st! Thank you to the 56 people who participated! Here are some of the anonymous results. Survey Monkey comments: Steve reported that responses were overwhelmingly positive. 57 responses, ages 55-64->38%, age 24->24%. Some suggestions were: having recognition of achievements posted, 90% of responses suggested lectures and parties. Steve to look at further and report back.

-Fall Doubles Tennis Festival

On Saturday October 15th we hosted a Fall Festival Event planned by the Social Committee to welcome in the Fall season. We enjoyed doubles matches and snacks from 1:00 -3:00 pm. Alex did a great job organizing matches.

-We have launched an ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM for Tennis and Pickleball courts. Here is the link: You are able to book courts online and also see what's available for times. Payment will still be required at the club, there will not be an option to pay for the court online, just to be able to book online.

~November 17th meeting was our annual meeting.

~We have a new water fountain with a bottle filler and filter for your convenience! Thank you to the 5 year plan board committee for the suggestion and to our landlord for the installation!
~Have you noticed the installed cameras? They are motion sensitive and are an added security feature suggested by our insurance company. Thanks for the generous donations from some of our members! The cameras can also be used by our teaching pros to instruct during their lessons. The video erases after a certain amount of time and will not be shared other than the two above mentioned instances without your permission.

🎾 Looking for an adult clinic? Here are a few options!

1.   Beginners’ tennis clinic Mondays from 5:30-6:30 or Wednesday mornings 10-11am. Please call to sign up. 2 people or more are necessary to run a clinic.

2.   Stroke of the day is back on Thursdays beginning on Sept. 15th and every Thursday from 11-12. Each week the clinic will focus on a different stroke, beginning with the forehand volley! Please call to sign up. 2 people or more are necessary to run a clinic.

Cost for programs above: Gold, Silver $20; Non-member $24.

 🎾 Looking for a fun casual night of tennis? Try the Friday night mixer from 6-8pm. All levels play in this, so if you're looking for higher level tennis, consider instead one of our more advanced nights.

Cost: Gold & Juniors $5. Silver $10. Non-member $15.

 🎾 Need a can of tennis balls? We sell tennis balls, racquets, grips, dampeners and even towels and socks! If there is something that you are looking for and we don't happen to have it, let us know and we can usually order it for you!

 🎾 Tuesday night pickleball is back! Tuesday nights from 5:30-9pm is pickleball night at KVTA. All 4 tennis courts are dedicated to pickleball. You must be on the email list that goes out on Fridays from Alex Stern to sign up. If you are not on the email list, please contact him directly at acopitennis@gmail.com

  • As of 4/28/22, the KVTA Board of Directors is now suggesting that all people wear a mask in the lobby and locker rooms. If you are ill, even with a cold and choose not to stay home, consider wearing a mask while at the club to prevent sharing your germs@
